Open Play
Open play is simply an organized casual predetermined time where pickleball players of all ages and skill levels show up at the courts to play. You don’t have to worry about finding other people to play. All you simply need to do is show up with paddle in hand.
Open play is any MountainCrest resident of all skill levels, including beginners and advanced players.
Players show up at a designated time and location with their paddle and join in the rotation. There are usually no pre-organized matches or tournaments.
When crowded, we use a paddle rotation system to keep track of who plays next. For example, players might put their paddles at the end of a rack or in buckets to wait their turn.
Open play is a great way to meet new people, get exercise, and improve your game. It’s also a social way to share court space when demand is high.
Open play can vary from game to game, with some games being more dramatic and others being shorter and less intense.
To make the most of your time, you can pick one thing to work on, like the consistency of your return of serve.
